VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Youth & Canine Programs​

  • Help students and their canine companions learn, grow, and build confidence together.

  • Assist with TRUE BLUE Youth & Canine Leadership Academy sessions

  • Support Junior Dog Handler training

  • Serve as a student or canine coaching assistant (Students 16 - 19)

  • Help with hands-on activities, demonstrations, and field experiences

  • Encourage students as they develop leadership, responsibility, and life skills

Canine Support​

  • Help our canine participants become confident, well-mannered companions and partners.

  • Assist with training activities under the direction of a WHITE DOG BLUE trainer

  • Support canine socialization and enrichment

  • Help prepare training spaces and supplies

  • Assist with grooming, transportation, and other canine-care needs

  • Provide support for therapy dog training and community visits

Canine Transportation

& Special Projects

  • Sometimes making an impact simply means helping us get where we need to go.

  • Assist with approved canine transportation

  • Help transport supplies and event materials

  • Assist with special projects and program preparation

  • Help with community service and outreach projects

Community Outreach

  • Help us bring canine-assisted education and positive relationships with dogs into the community.

  • Assist with community outreach programs

  • Support therapy dog visits and activities

  • Help with educational demonstrations

  • Represent WHITE DOG BLUE at community events

Behind-the-Scenes Support

​

  • Not every volunteer needs to work directly with people or dogs. Many important jobs happen behind the scenes.

  • Organize program materials and supplies

  • Prepare student workbooks and training materials

  • Assist with administrative projects

  • Help with mailings and resource preparation

  • Support special projects as needed

Events & Fundraising

  • Our events help make programs possible—especially the programs we provide at little or no cost to participants.

  • Help plan and prepare for fundraising events

  • Assist with event setup and cleanup

  • Help with silent auctions, raffles, and other fundraising activities

  • Support fundraising campaigns and community awareness efforts

  • Help prepare, package, or distribute fundraising items

Every volunteer brings something different. You don’t have to be a professional dog trainer or know everything about dogs to make a difference. We provide the training and guidance needed for approved volunteer roles.
