a bit about me...
I am the founder of REN Collaborative and White Dog Blue. I have worked in nonprofit ministries for over 20 years. I'm a Board Certified Professional Christian Life Coach & Lay Counselor specializing in Mental Health Support. I am also an accredited Canine Behavioral Trainer, Certified Therapy Dog Hander, and Alliance of Therapy Dogs Tester Observer. I love bringing dogs into my coaching and educational services. My work has been working primarily with women & teens going through major life transitions. I have led single parent support groups, facilitated parenting classes and worked with individuals and groups in the areas of healthy relationships and mental health.
My husband and I have one daughter who is grown and living in the Pacific Northwest with our grand puppies. One of our greatest joys has been rescuing extreme trauma dogs and rehabilitating them to become learning assistance & therapy support dogs. Our pups join us on hiking adventures and camping in our mini camper, that we custom designed and built together. The pups are also part of the White Dog Blue Crew, the "four -legged" staff with the White Dog Blue programs.
My heart is to see people find hope, healing and help and to introduce them to the lover of their souls. A God who takes our broken pieces and turns them into something beautiful - something whole. I love to inspire and empower those around me. I also believe that some of the greatest gifts we can receive and give are grace, empathy and forgiveness.

Let's Connect

THE WHITE DOG
WHITE DOG BLUE Eli Blue, the original dapper dude who started it all. “Just being with him brings me so much peace,” the young woman said as we walked together. She lived in an adult foster home and had asked to join me on my neighborhood walk with my dogs. The “he” she was referring to was Eli Blue, my white German Shepherd pup. Eli had a calm, gentle presence and eyes that seemed to invite people in. Over the years, he and I connected with countless individuals, and I witnessed the unique power of a canine’s presence in moments of pain and trauma. We began formal obedience classes with Eli and his new companion, a hound named Carolina. My hope was to have them both certified as therapy dogs to work alongside me in my coaching practice. But life shifted unexpectedly. First, COVID halted in-person work, and then Eli passed away suddenly from a brain tumor. Everything came to a halt. In 2022, I was invited to visit a group of young women in a detention center. During my visit I shared stories about our dogs, many of whom had experienced extreme neglect or abuse before coming to live with us. One dog in particular—Remi, who had endured the worst—captured their attention, and they asked if they could meet her. After consulting with our canine behaviorist, we agreed. My world shifted again that day as I witnessed healing happening in real time, for both the girls and the dog. I started envisioning a new kind of work. For the next two years, Remi and I visited the students weekly. As Remi healed, we began formal therapy dog training for her and for our older girl, Carolina. The students were fascinated by the training process and wanted to help. That was when I realized it was time to pursue the vision that began years earlier with the beautiful white dog Eli Blue. Both dogs completed their training and were certified for therapy work, and I went on to complete my own education to become a canine trainer. This year, under my coaching nonprofit, REN Collaborative, I launched White Dog Blue, with a mission to bring together canine training and mental health—cultivating an inspiring space where people and dogs are valued, understood, and empowered to thrive. Our programs include youth development, recovery and life transitions assistance, therapy dog visits, and canine-assisted reading. The standout program is the TRUE BLUE Youth and Canine Leadership Academy, which pairs young people with a canine partner for hands-on training experiences that build leadership, responsibility, and essential life skills. I’m grateful to now work with my own dogs in my coaching practice and to support others in building meaningful relationships with theirs. I look forward to continuing my education in the therapy-dog field and to helping both people and dogs grow, heal, and thrive together.
MEET THE WHITE DOG BLUE CREW
Invite a dog into your private or group coaching sessions.
WHITE DOG BLUE dogs have been the victims of abuse and/or neglect and are in the process of healing. They live in their forever homes with their owners. They have been temperament tested by an Animal Behaviorist and been deemed non-violent. Those that are certified therapy dogs are registered with The Alliance of Therapy Dogs. A piece of their healing process is being a part of trauma healing therapy with humans. They are also involved in Animal Assisted Therapy & Education offered through White Dog Blue programs including TRUE BLUE, BlueSky, Red Rover Readers, and White Dog TLC. White Dog Blue dogs can be part of private or group sessions.

CAROLINA
Carolina was the first member of the crew. Her sweet, gentle, yet energetic spirit has been enjoyed by many. She is fearless, curious and ready for any adventure. She is known for her fantastic smile, side eye and deep lean-in for endless petting & kisses. Carolina is a certified therapy dog and works as a reading buddy with the RED ROVER READERS & The TRUE BLUE Program.

REMI
Remi's trauma was debilitating when she came to us. BUT... her tender heart pushed her past her fear to engage with those she senses need her most. She now works with teen girls as part of TRUE BLUE, a youth development program. She is also a certified therapy dog and participates in private and group coaching sessions. Remi is a beautiful reminder of true resilience.

ROCKY
Rocky is the newest member of the crew, an official "foster fail". His sweet smile and gentle presence make him a perfect fit in this group. Rocky has been working with the BlueSky Canine Academy and TRUE BLUE Leadership Academy. He loves the students and works very hard. He is currently working on his therapy dog certification. Read more about his story HERE.

SOPHIE
Sophie is the baby of this crew. She is still in training. As a very small pup she experienced extreme physical and mental trauma that have left her with a disability (you wouldn't know to meet her). She is compassionate, engaging and intelligent. Her crew members are helping her learn to trust humans. We look forward to having her join the therapy dog world some day soon.
